Challenge: Designing a Beard Trimmer that Reflects Evolving Trends and Brand Heritage
In this project, I collaborated with Proctor & Gamble and Braun to develop a new beard trimmer that would meet the evolving user needs and trends in male grooming while staying true to Braun’s design heritage. The goal was to create a product that was not only functional but also appealing and easy to incorporate into users‘ daily routines.
Braun has a long history of innovative design in the grooming sector, and the challenge was to build upon that legacy while simplifying the user experience for modern consumers.

Approach: Analyzing Trends and Simplifying User Experience
To achieve this, I conducted a comprehensive analysis of current trends in male grooming and deeply explored Braun’s brand DNA. This research helped me identify key areas for improvement, focusing on simplifying the product’s functionality and making it more user-friendly.
One of the central goals was to reduce complexity and eliminate unnecessary equipment, streamlining the process of using the trimmer. I focused on ensuring that the new design would seamlessly integrate into the morning routine of its users—enhancing convenience, comfort, and overall satisfaction.
Development: User-Centric Design and CAD Prototyping
With these insights in mind, I began the design process using computer-aided design (CAD) tools to develop a fully functional, ready-for-production model. I created photorealistic scale models to test ergonomics, usability, and the user experience, making sure the product was both practical and intuitive. The goal was to create a trimmer that felt like a natural extension of the user’s grooming habits.
The final design featured a streamlined main body and an innovative inductive magnetic wall mount, offering an elegant and practical solution for charging and storage. The CAD model was fully detailed, ready for manufacturing, and designed to ensure ease of use while maintaining Braun’s signature aesthetic and performance standards.
Impact: Bridging Tradition with Modern Design
This project allowed me to explore how a product can evolve alongside changing trends without losing sight of its heritage. The new beard trimmer successfully combines functionality with simplicity, making it an integral part of the user’s daily routine. It also aligns with Braun’s legacy of design excellence, offering a modern take on a classic product while meeting the needs of today’s consumers.
